Customs Clearance

Export Clearance is the fiscal procedure through which the customs clearance of the merchandise heading abroad is processed, either definitively exported or not.

After the Export Registration (RE) is completed, and after the merchandise is prepared for shipment, the company holding all required export documents must provide the Export Clearance Declaration (DDE/SD) or Simplified Export Declaration (DSE), through SISCOMEX.

After the DDE/SD or DSE is provided and the presence of cargo is informed by the trustee or by the exporter/legal representative, the clearance instruction documents shall be received by the Internal Revenue Service. Receipt of the documents by the Internal Revenue Service indicates the start of the fiscal procedure and the merchandise clearance process is initiated.
